Frequently asked questions
How does Cicaderm Spray help irritated and damaged skin?
Cicaderm Spray combines soothing, absorbent, protective and antimicrobial ingredients. Mimosa tenuiflora and Herculane Thermal Water help calm inflammation and discomfort. Smectite and zinc oxide absorb excess fluid and protect the affected area, while copper and zinc salts help limit microbial proliferation.
Which ingredients contribute to the antimicrobial action of Cicaderm Spray?
The antimicrobial action is supported by Mimosa tenuiflora and copper and zinc salts. Zinc oxide and smectite help protect the area and absorb excess fluid. Cicaderm Spray does not replace the treatment of a skin infection. If pus, an unpleasant odor, increasing pain, fever or spreading redness appear, a medical evaluation is necessary.
When should I choose Cicaderm Spray and when Cicaderm Cream?
The products are adapted to different needs. Choose Cicaderm Spray for moist or exudative lesions, hard-to-reach areas, skin folds, larger surfaces or areas too sensitive to be touched during application. Choose Cicaderm Cream for predominantly dry lesions, localized areas and continued care once the lesion is no longer moist. The spray is not generally more effective than the cream. The choice depends on the type, location and stage of the lesion.
How and how often should Cicaderm Spray be applied?
Shake the bottle well before use and spray the product locally, directly onto the affected area. Cicaderm Spray is applied twice a day or as often as needed, according to the product instructions or your doctor's recommendation. After a dermatological procedure, the frequency and duration of application should be adapted to the protocol received at the clinic.
How soon can results be seen?
Healing time varies depending on the type, size, location and depth of the lesion, the procedure performed and the characteristics of the skin. In the Cicaderm Spray clinical study, skin progress was monitored through clinical and photographic evaluations. However, the evaluation points in a study do not guarantee that every lesion will heal within a specific timeframe. If the lesion does not progress well or signs of infection appear, seek a medical evaluation.
What is an exudative lesion?
An exudative lesion is a damaged area that releases a clear, yellowish or slightly bloody fluid at the surface. A small amount of exudate may appear during certain phases of the repair process. Cicaderm Spray contains smectite and zinc oxide, which help absorb excess fluid. If the discharge is abundant, purulent, has an unpleasant odor or is accompanied by increasing pain, fever or spreading redness, a medical consultation is necessary.
Can Cicaderm Spray be used after laser, peeling or microneedling?
Yes. Cicaderm Spray may be recommended for skin care after certain dermatological and dermocosmetic procedures, including chemical peeling, microneedling, laser or electrocautery. When to start applying it, how often and for how long should be adapted to the procedure and the recommendations received at the clinic.
Does Cicaderm Spray dry out the skin?
Cicaderm Spray contains smectite and zinc oxide, which absorb excess fluid from the surface of moist lesions. The formula also contains glycerin, an ingredient that helps maintain skin hydration and comfort. The level of comfort may vary depending on skin type and the area where the product is applied.
Can Cicaderm Spray and Cicaderm Cream be used in the same routine?
Yes, the two products can have complementary roles. Cicaderm Spray is especially suitable for moist lesions and areas that are hard to reach or sensitive to touch. Cicaderm Cream is suitable for predominantly dry lesions and for continued care once the area is no longer exudative. How to alternate or combine them should be adapted to the type of lesion and the recommendation of your doctor or pharmacist.
Can Cicaderm Spray be applied to the face and body?
Cicaderm Spray can be used on damaged skin areas on the face or body, according to the product instructions. Avoid spraying directly toward the eyes, mouth or mucous membranes. For application near the eyes or after a procedure performed in this area, follow your doctor's recommendation.
